As co- founder and lead vocalist of Hot Rize, Tim served as a bridge between the traditional sounds of the hill country and the modern styles of bluegrass in the 1980s. He has continued to expand the music’s borders as a soloist and his songs have been recorded by Kathy Mattea, The Seldom Scene, New Grass Revival, The Dixie Chicks and even Garth Brooks. With a new album, “Chameleon”, due this spring and the Grammy for Best Traditional Folk Album 2006, Tim O’Brien still confounds expectations.
