As SavingCountryMusic.com pointed out, in response to a fan asking when he would be releasing a new album, Carl responded with the date.
“My ‘direction’ has always kind of been self-evident to me in the past,” Carll said. “Now, I’ve hit a point where I want to take some time to figure it out — creatively, artistically, what I want my career and my days, to look like.”
KMAG YOYO was met with critical acclaim, including being voted the number one album of 2011 by the Americana Music Association. His most recent release came in the form of the Corb Lund collaboration “Bible on the Dash” in 2013. While we’re still awaiting confirmation from Carll’s camp, April 8 would fall in line with comments the 39-year-old artist made in an interview with Boston Globe, saying he was taking his time on a new release, but hoped to record what would be his fifth full-length this fall.
